Carl Scarborough

Juris Doctor , University of Missouri Kansas City School of Law (2012)

Admitted to Practice in Missouri and the Federal Court for the Western District of Missouri.

Carl Scarborough came to the practice of law via a non-traditional path. Carl began his professional journey over thirty years ago by becoming a volunteer firefighter with the Wellington Fire Department in 1990. Two years later he was hired as a fulltime firefighter by the Central Jackson County Fire Protection District, where he spent the next 24 years working as a firefighter, paramedic, investigator, inspector, captain, and ultimately assistant chief of the training division. In 2016, Carl left CJCFPD and took the helm as fire chief of the Sni Valley Fire Protection District. Chief Scarborough retired from the fire service in 2020.

Carl always valued education and returned to school as an adult to obtain a college education. In 2007 he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration from Park University, graduating with honors. In 2009 he fulfilled a life long goal, entering law school. Carl graduated from law school in 2012 having obtained Dean’s List recognition multiple times, and passed the bar exam in 2013, a feat completed while continuing to work full time as a firefighter throughout. Carl has been in private practice since 2013.

Carl’s non-traditional background and service first approach give him a unique perspective regarding the practice of law. This problem solving and “service first” approach and perspective are the cornerstones of his practice.
